"“Not much to tell you about Cody Parks and The Dirty South but one thing is for sure is they aren't your typical Nashville country act. Singer/songwriter Cody Parks always knew his vision could become a reality with the right players who shared his passion. In 2019, Cody Parks and The Dirty South came together to blend the heart and soul of country music with the gritty, rebellious spirit of ’80s and ’90s metal. Their fusion of country roots with influences like Mötley Crüe, Ratt, and Pantera gives birth to a sound that’s as wild as a rodeo, as relentless as a freight train, and as unforgettable as a southern summer. There first singles released in 2019 continuing through to the release of the EP Smothered and Covered in 2023, Cody Parks and The Dirty South unleashed a storm that’s destined to leave a trail of awe in its wake. This EP is a testament to their audacious approach to music – a collection of tracks that seamlessly melds the heart-wrenching narratives of country with the thunderous riffs and bone-rattling breakdowns of metal. Tracks like “Thundercash 69” and “Grundy County Cowboys” capture the essence of this musical alchemy. As we look ahead to 2025, Cody Parks and The Dirty South are on a mission. They’re plowing through cities, tearing down the walls of genre conformity, and challenging the status quo of modern country music.
