"“Uuhai”, is a Mongolian rock metal band established in 2020 by Otgonbaatar Damba, drummer from the band “Hurd”and a Mongolian National Cultural Award honoree, combining Mongolian national folk music with modern rock . Damba sought to initiate and implement this project as he saw an opportunity to bring Mongolian rock music to the world’s stage, imbued with the cultural heritage and national artistry of the Mongolian nation. It was in 2016 that Damba began research and development for the musical elements of a harder Mongolian rock or metal genre adding research and development by forming a crew, wardrobe, terminology, arrangements and melodies for the purpose of introducing artistic works enriched with Mongolia’s cultural heritage to the world In 2019 auditioning and selecting group members commenced, and in 2020, established Uuhai or translated to English Hurrah”. The group’s first creative work, the self titled “Uuhai” , was released in 2019 followed by a total of 14 songs. Uuhai” band is comprised of 9 members Otgonbaatar Damba bandleader Shinetsog-Geni Dorjnyam and Zorigoo Battsooj on horsehead fiddle and throat singer, Saruul Tsogt-Erdene vocalist, Batbayar Dulamsuren percussionist, Dalaitseren Nasanbuyan solo guitarist and Anand Naranbaatar bass guitarist The attire of the Uuhai band as well as the musical instruments they use, including the horse-head fiddle and the Mongolian lute, incorporate hand-carved elements which themselves have Mongolian cultural heritage origins, decorated with unique traditional features of ornate, symbolic, plaited patterns and designs. Their latest single Khar Khulz was released in beginning of 2024 "
